Carol Plewka  of Waterford: passed away unexpectedly October 4, 2019; age 68. Daughter of Angeline and the late Arthur Plewka; beloved wife of Ted Gozdzialski; loving mother of Benjamin Gitler (Nicole) and Jack Gitler (Heather); grandmother of Lilliana, Isabella, Jackson, Avery, Evelyn and Jakob; step-mother of Bethany Gunnels (Paul); sister of Arthur Plewka (Sue), Patty Johnston (Steve), Mark Plewka (Robin), Toni Lawrance (Tom), Kathy Lata (Steve) and Sue Klasing (Bill); also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Carol loved life and was willing to try almost anything. She was an extremely empathetic human being who devoted her life to helping those who were less fortunate. It wouldn’t be uncommon for her to stop what she was doing to help people in need. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good joke. Carol was an active member of St. Perpetua Catholic Church where she served as a member of the Order of Alhambra Denia Caravan and was a board member of St. Francis Camp on the Lake. The family will receive friends at St. Perpetua Catholic Church, Friday, October 11, 2019, 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow at The Fountains, Clarkston. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 10, 2019, 5-9 p.m. at Donelson, Johns and Evans Funeral Home, Waterford. Rosary Thursday 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Scarves (https://hopescarves.org/donate/).
